Rest and Restoration

Oh thou tree

Like a labourer in the fields

You bloom and you rest

You shine and you soften

You absorb, grow, sleep and wake

The seasons come and go

They change your looks but you stay rooted

Old leaves fall as new ones rise

You renew yourself

With each passing year

Oh, thou wonderful tree

I look to you

To learn to grow, to blossom

To rest with the seasons

To rise again as the seasons change

Oh, thou tree, so glorious in your beauty

Walking in your rhythm has taught me

That in retreat and rest lies strength
